The Legend of Zelda – And I consider Zelda to be Nintendo’s best overall title on the NES, so yeah, it’s genius.Īdventures of Lolo – HAL Labs’ action/puzzler is a good headscratcher, although from what I understand the sequels tidy up the concept a bit. Brilliant level design, responsive controls and a bevy of secrets make this a delight. 3 – Currently one of the highest ranked NES game on my own Top 111, which I’d like to think is enough to suggest its worthiness to be in this section. It’s delightful to have this gem join the service! Kirby’s Adventure – Kirby’s second title is his best - wonderful graphics and sound, engaging gameplay focusing on Kirby’s newfound ability to absorb powers from foes, and a LOT of content to explore. Super fun mechanics with some degree of customization, great tunes and charm to spare. Ice Hockey – Until Blades of Steel arrives on the service, this is the best sports game included thus far in my book. The Genesis Switch Online app is here.īalloon Fight – Probably the purest arcade experience currently available on the service, with two gameplay modes, responsive gameplay and catchy music. I’m not going to reiterate my older work on games I’ve given the NES Classic/NES anniversary treatment to it’s all NEW content! I’m ranking the top 5 games currently available as “Winner!”, the five worst as “Sorry”, and the rest in “Probable”, just so you know what I’m doing. I’m going to give each a sentence or two to quickly summarize if they’re worth your time or not. I’m keeping tally of the Switch NES Online selections here.
